This cozy Apple Tahini Smoothie is my go-to when I want something creamy, filling, and just a little different. The sweet apples and frozen banana pair beautifully with the nutty tahini, while a splash of coconut milk brings everything together in a rich, dreamy blend.

It's a unique smoothie I often make when we have extra apples lying around, especially on busy mornings. If you're looking for more unique smoothie ideas, try my Mango Lassi Smoothie or the nutty Tahini Banana Smoothie next!

Why I Love This Smoothie

  • Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
  • No ice required, just a frozen banana for the perfect thickness.
  • Great way to use up seasonal apples.
  • Keeps me full for hours, thanks to healthy fats and fiber.
  • Comes together in just 5 minutes.

Tips and Variations from My Kitchen

  • Use sweet apples like Fuji or Gala for a naturally sweeter smoothie. Tart apples like Granny Smith add a refreshing zing.
  • Frozen banana makes it creamy without needing ice. If using fresh banana, add a few ice cubes.
  • Good tahini matters – Choose smooth, runny tahini for a better blend and flavor.
  • Extra fiber? Add soaked chia or flax seeds to the mix before blending.
  • Need more protein? I often blend in a scoop of my favorite plant-based protein powder, especially on busy mornings.
  • Craving a chocolatey twist? Try adding a spoonful of unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder for a deeper, richer flavor.
  • Want to sneak in greens? A small handful of spinach blends in so well, you won't even taste it, and your body will thank you!
  • Spice it your way. I like adding a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom for a cozy, warming touch that will be perfect for cooler mornings.
  • Looking for more healthy fats? A tablespoon of almond or cashew butter makes this smoothie extra creamy and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples cored and roughly chopped (keep the peel for fiber)
  • 2 bananas frozen, broken into chunks
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar optional (only if your apples aren't sweet)

Instructions

  • Chop the apples – There's no need to peel them unless you prefer a smoother texture.
  • Add all the ingredients to a blender - apples, frozen bananas, tahini, coconut milk, hemp seeds, and salt.
  • Blend until smooth - Add more milk if needed to achieve the desired texture.
  • Taste and sweeten if needed – Coconut sugar is optional.
  • Pour and enjoy - It's best fresh, but you can refrigerate it if needed.

Notes
